NIGERIA INFLATION REPORT : APRIL 2026

Nigeria's headline inflation edged up to 15.69% in April 2026, rising 31 basis points from 15.38% in March, a minor reversal after eight straight months of decline from a peak of 26.82% in April 2025. The uptick was largely food-driven, with food inflation (16.06% YoY, +3.80% MoM) crossing back above core inflation (15.86%) for the first time since December. While the broader disinflation trend remains intact, the food price rebound warrants monitoring heading into Q3.
